Maoist Revolution advances in Nepal seizing Opportunities and meeting
several Challenges
People’s Liberation Army, Nepal launched a
massive military operation throughout the country as the unilateral cease-fire
declared by Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) come to an end. CPN (Maoist) had
declared ceasefire for 2-9 October keeping in view with request of different
political parties, intellectuals, human right activists, journalists and
different section of peace-loving people at least for the duration of festival
to celebrate Dashain holidays. These sections of people had urged the Royal
government to stop war against the people and come to the political settlement.
Needless to mention that the reactionary regime of Nepal had not only
completely ignored the appeal, but it relentlessly launched attacks against the
revolutionary people, killing several unarmed civilians throughout country
including capital Kathmandu.
A lot of genuinely peace-loving people wished
that the murderous feudal autocrat would come to truce and find a way out for
the set of demands – round table conference, interim government and election of
the constituent assembly. Contrary to the wishes of those section people, the
regime further declared that the reactionary army would remain active giving up
Dashain holidays.
The PLA has attacked over armed police
barracks: a militarised police station on 11 October, situated at Kushum of
Banke district and Bhaluwang armed police training centre 13 October, situated
at Bhaluwang of Puthan district, both locations are in western Nepal. These
military actions are qualitatively different than that of before, and deserve a
tremendous military and political significance. Because the character of the
military action over the militarised police force and training camp strongly
suggests that this is a trailer of strategic offensive, making a leap from
strategic equilibrium.
In the Kushum action, there are detail reports
about casualties from the Maoist side. There is no credible ground to believe
the military censored information to the press. The initial report published in
cpnmorg suggests that the Maoist revolutionaries have been able to hold up
casualties. While the Maoist revolutionaries had been attacking over the highly
fortified militarised police camp as well as training centre, the war was
certainly ferocious. The reactionary army launched attacks in the night, whit
its night-vision equipped helicopter that were deployed one from Pokhara,
central Nepal and the other from Nepalgunj, western Nepal. According to the
Maoist information in the web, the PLA have been able to destroy the outer
circle of the of the armed police post of Kushum police station. According to
the information source of the old state, Maoist revolutionaries attacked the
police station encircling from all around, by around 2000 to 2500
revolutionaries, with the weapons seized from the police and the army of the
old state as well as the rudimentary weapons such as pressure-cooker bomb and
socket-bombs. Numbers of PLA had been able to rush in to the barracks but because
of highly fortifications and helicopter attack complete wipe out of the base
camp has not been possible. No details about the casualties of the Maoist side
is avail yet, the six members of the Royal American army were killed in the
raid. Several others were injured.
In the attacks of Bhaluwand, 12 Maoist
revolutionaries have been martyred. Around 25 Royal American army personals
were finished. Many others have suffered injury. According to the Krishna Sen
Online (KSS) news, Maoist revolutionaries have ceased one LMG, seven SLR, seven
3-03 rifles from the raid of that armed training camp.
Similarly, there has been a major ballet
between the PLA and the Royal American Army at the Gaura area of Doti district,
western Nepal, where 20 Royal terrorists were wiped out. Their weapons were
seized, injured who were arrested were released.
The Maoist raid over the militarised police
base and training camp that took place on 11 and 13 of October and the battle
of 15 October has a tremendous political and military impact on the
revolutionary movement. The roars of the gun have once again reverberated in
the Nepalese history in a different height of revolutionary people’s war.
Militarily, the royal American army has been more desperate and terrified. The
reactionary Royal American army, having defeated in the major battles, and
military confrontations in different parts of the country has turned out to
kill the unarmed civilians and fulfil the quota of killing people. Quota? The
Royal American army officers from Kathmandu orders the jawans kill people
everyday not less than a certain number, as much as the Royal terrorists are
killed. That was the practice of the reactionaries in the past, as well as
their practice of killing unarmed people justifies these claims. It killed
around 20 civilians including revolutionary cultural teams at a school of Doti
district, western Nepal on 14 October. While the reactionary army attacked over
the people assembled to watch over the cultural show, several students were
killed and at least six were injured. The old state of the reactionary system
has propagated that 11 Maoists have been killed.
Similarly, the royal American army has
encircled a village in Achham district and killed 25 unarmed civilians and
propagated that Maoists have been killed in an attack over a training camp.
While the whole country is turned out to a Maoist training camp in the eyes of
the reactionary Royal army, any citizen who are killed by the Royal thugs are
attributed to have killed in the training camp. But, still the ground reality
is the desperate army has been killing the civilians taking revenge against
Maoist revolutionaries.
From these developments the Gynendra outfit of
the palace is more and more isolated from the people of the country. The
reactionary feudal regime has been sustained only on the back of the US
imperialist weapons and money. The reactionaries have already been facing a
budget deficit. Around two billions of additional rupees, that makes around
eight hundred millions, has already been sanctioned for military expenditure.
Development process, educational enterprises and administrative units are
virtually collapsed. It has also lost credibility from the donors because of
the heavy expenditure in the military affairs. The imperialist donors are
scared in donating money because while the reactionaries are wiped out by using
their loan in the war, they will loose them. The series of attacks over the
reactionary armed police camps have accelerated this political uncertainties,
complexities and crisis in the reactionary regime.
On 14 October, the American built (or owned?)
hydroelectric terminal situated at Bhote Koshi River in the eastern Nepal, has
been closed. Whatever might be the real intention behind the closure of the
power station, the reactionary authority has said as security reason. After
all, after few days the production of the electricity has reportedly resumed
after amassing a huge number of military forces. Revolutionary’s attacking over
the reactionary forces have also profoundly deterred the imperialist talons who
have since long been collecting booty and further waiting the Nepalese make
pray. In this state of situation the reactionary old state of Nepal has also
been further isolated from the international political moral and financial
support.
There have been several actions through out the
country, the Maoist revolutionaries carried out simultaneously. And in almost
everyday, the Maoists have been carrying out different level of raids or
snipping, commando attacks or pitch battle throw out the country. In the mean
time, the process of the desertion of the police and military has been growing
up. Recently a superintendent of police SP who was posted to the Maoist strong
western area has resigned. Politically the reactionary system of Nepal has lost
its validity.
The Maoist military raids over these barracks
have also clearly gave the massages to the people of Nepal as well as the
revolutionary people of the world that it is not the reactionary Royal American
army that attacked over the Maoist camps just as in the past years, but it is
People’s liberation army that has launched offensive measures over the enemy
military camps. This is significantly an expression of political and military
height that has been attained qualitatively in the higher level.
The reactionary elements of Nepal, some
cowardice puppets of the US imperialism and all vacillating forces of different
hue and colours have commented that because of the American guns and training
the Royal American army has been viable. Thus have been able to repulse the
Maoists in Kusum and Bhaluwang. Wasn’t it the Royal American army that was
chased from two major encirclements of Korchawang and Bhawang of Rolpa district
right after the cease-fire was formally broken? The attack of Kusum and
Bhaluwang was not in the area of the people’s liberation army, it is the base
camp of the reactionary army and armed police force of a well fortification
with huge strengths and armaments. Attacking over such army post and by holding
casualties on the Maoist revolutionary side and even seizing weapons from the
barracks itself is a great military victory of the People’s Liberation army.
Just as in the last year, the reactionary Royal
murderous has been showing the dead bodies of the people and attributing that
they are Maoists. And also they have been giving news that such and such
numbers of the Maoist dead bodies are recovered. While Maoist revolutionaries
raided over the police post last year in the same area, the regime brought
prisoners from different jails and having killed them shown that the Maoists
had been killed in the encounter.
The reactionary regime has been lying the
military personals to maintain their morals.
