Down with Bush! US/UK Out of Iraq!

Hands Off Nepal!

In May, Bush proclaimed the war in Iraq over. The US/UK imperialists said this bloody war was necessary because of Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction. But they found nothing. The US said they had come to liberate the Iraqi people. They now stand exposed as old-style imperialist occupiers. Instead of peace, justice and prosperity, the US imperialists have brought death and destruction to the Iraqi people and have stolen the country’s wealth through capitalist privatisation. Is it any wonder that the Iraqi people are fighting against the occupation forces with greater and greater determination!

Bush used the excuse of the September 11th attacks to launch the US’s so-called war on terrorism. But who is it that has terrorized the world? Are the people of Afghanistan better off today – or are they suffering under the renewed domination of the warlords of yesterday, with women afraid to go out without veils, heroin production massively increased, and repression on the rise throughout the country? Meanwhile, in the Middle East the US-backed Zionist State of Israel has only intensified its vicious treatment of the Palestinians. A huge apartheid wall now surrounds the Palestinians, making them prisoners in their own land. In the name of the war on terror, the US has sent its troops around the world – they have now set up military bases in the oil-rich Central Asia Republics for the first time ever. They have gone into the Philippines to help suppress the revolutionary guerrilla war there. US aid has multiplied to the reactionary Nepalese monarchy that is fighting to suppress the People’s War there. In Africa and Latin America they squeeze profits and natural resources from the masses labour. They intervene in these areas too under the pretext of ‘war on drugs’ and ‘pharmaceutical AIDS relief programmes’! Here too the masses rebel. Everywhere in the name of the war on terrorism the US is terrorizing the people and seeking to establish its position as the unchallenged superpower – ruler of a new planetary empire. They buy their way out of the new International War Crimes Tribunal to ensure their own war criminals can carry on their murdering ways without fear. They laugh contemptuously at the Kyoto Treaty to protect the world’s environment, while raping and pillaging the world’s natural resources, leaving the planet a dangerous wasteland for future generations.

Blair says “Iraqi People are better off without Saddam Hussein”. We say the Iraqi People and the People of the whole World are much better off without imperialism, which has brought misery and death for the vast majority of the People of our planet.  The Imperialists must be stopped!

Bush and his cronies loudly praise the British as the “best friends” of the US, devoted allies who can always be counted on. Blair is welcomed as a hero in Washington, and would like nothing more than to welcome Bush in the same way here. We cannot let this happen. The US and UK armies are nothing but occupying powers in Iraq. They install their puppet government, carry out night-time raids that terrorise the women and children, shoot Iraqis at checkpoints on the slightest provocation. And the US and UK imperialists will continue to send soldiers to do their dirty work until and unless they meet mass determined resistance. There is nothing more important you can do Thursday 20 November than come to give Bush the greeting he so richly deserves. Bush once threatened menacingly: “You are against us, or you are with us.” It is time we stood up to proclaim, along with the people of Iraq, of Palestine, of Nepal and of the whole world: WE ARE NOT WITH YOU, BUT AGAINST YOU!
