RELEASE COM. C.P. GAJUREL (GAURAV) !

Honourable Ambassador!

As you might have been aware of that Com. C. P. Gajurel (Gaurav), a senior Polit-bureau Member of Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) has been detained by Indian Government. He was captured at the Chennai airport on August 20, 2003 while he was flying to Europe.  Com. Gajurel was proceeding towards Europe for regular Party works and discharging the international duty. He has been kept under unjust confinement in India.

It is to be noted that there is undergoing People’s War in Nepal with millions of Nepalese people rallying around CPN (Maoist) who is leading peoples’ movement in Nepal. Nepalese People want to establish a Republican state to protect and preserve people’s democratic rights and faster development of the country.  “Nepal Naresh” who is also Commander in Chief of Royal Army is brutally suppressing peoples’ voice by killing own people. Those individuals nationally and internationally who support and protect peoples’ democratic rights should stop their any kind of support to the Nepal’s Military dictator (King) who is sole responsible for killing nearly 10,000 people and making the country one of the poorest nations in the world.  What makes more alarming that Nepali Monarchy, the fascist regime, has asked to Indian State for extradition of Com. Gajurel and there is a serious danger of his life if he is handed over to Nepal. The Indian State has the history of selectively invoking different treaties and laws to suit own interest, hence there is increasing apprehensions mounting against his life. His extradition goes against the good spirit of Section 31, sub-sections “A” of 1962 Extradition Act and also poses a serious danger.

In this regard, it is our duty to urge the Indian State to set Com. Gajurel free unconditionally as soon as possible. We also appeal to all the democratic forces to raise their voices for the injustice extradition.  Therefore, we kindly appeal to hon. ambassador to forward our request to the Indian State for his early release without any condition.
