Joint picket rally in front of Brussels based
Indian embassy demand:
immediate and unconditional release of Com

12 Nov.2003, Brussels / The World People’s Resistance Movement, Benelux
(Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg ) and the STOP USA ( a platform of more
than 50 organizations) staged a protest rally in front of the Indian Embassy,
in Brussels demanding immediate release of Comrade Gaurav, a political bureau
member of the CPN(Maoist), and handed over a memorandum to the Indian Prime
minister, Mr. Atal Bihari Bajpayee through ambassador.
In that protest programme Dr. An Muylaert, on behalf of the STOP USA, said, “Since the end of the cease fire in
August, the American ambassador granted himself flagrant unacceptable
interference in this internal conflict”.
She further said, “It is also unacceptable for us that US sent hundreds
of military advisors to Nepal. We don’t accept any interference of the United
States in the internal affairs of a sovereign country. We do not accept false
excuses as fight against terrorism, liberation and installing democracy. Not
the kind of democracy of the US at least.”
Accordingly on the programme, on behalf of the
Workers Party of Belgium, spokesperson Dr. Kris Merks highlighted the recent
development on the brutality of reactionary regime of Nepal and demanded immediate and unconditional release
of Comrade Gaurav, by handing over a memorandum to the Indian Embassy. He also
protested the US imperialist intervention in the internal affairs of Nepal.
Similarly on behalf of the WPRM, Benelux,
Krishna Khatiwada urged the just loving people of the world to fight for
immediate release of Comrade Gaurav.
Leaflets were distributed during the
demonstration.
Nepalese students in Norway have also demanded immediate release
of Comrade Gaurav. A protest letter was handed over on 10th of
November to the Indian Embassy in Oslo, the capital of Norway. Cpnmnews. 15
